About
I am an artist, illustrator and graphic recorder, based in London and working nationally and internationally. The emphasis of my work is on live illustration/ visual minuting and graphic recording. My practice also includes conventional illustration and artwork for animations. Although I mainly work solo, I frequently team up with other freelance colleagues to form temporary teams.
I originally trained as a glassblower, then did a BA(Hons) in 3D Design (Glass), followed by an MA in Applied Linguistics and an MA in Illustration. I’ve always worked as a freelance illustrator, initially alongside more lucrative activities, mainly glassblowing (in factories and small workshops, including a year in Bermuda), and teaching, (including a year in Finland), and also less lucrative ones such as bringing up children (in London). I started doing live illustration in the British civil service in the early 2000s, subsequently trained as a Visual Minuter, and have been a freelance live graphic recorder ever since. My clients range from government departments to NGOs, corporate banks to food banks, business schools to comprehensive schools, cultural institutions to hospital trusts, research institutions to museums, consultancies to community groups etc etc, all of which I enjoy and all of which have helped me build up insights into organisational (human) behaviour that allow me to contextualise my observations.
I’m an Associate at Montroc Consulting, an exeptional Strategy & Change Management consultancy with whom I have travelled the world and always have a lot of fun. https://montrocconsulting.com/
I”m also a part-time postgraduate researcher at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in September 2023 with the provisional research title: The Secret Lives of Meeting Room 1: Drawing life/live at Guildhall, with birds.
Please contact me with any questions - if I can’t help, I can probably put you in touch with somebody who can!
PS: in addition to my British passport I hold a European one, which makes working on the continent a lot easier.
